Hollywood Improv and Ice House Comedy Club are both premier LA comedy venues with very different vibes. The Improv on Melrose is the modern industry club — polished production, comfortable room, and a steady rotation of nationally touring headliners. Ice House in Pasadena is the old-school gem — one of the oldest comedy clubs in the country, with an intimate room that comedians consistently cite as one of their favorites. The Improv offers the more predictable, high-floor experience. Ice House offers the more intimate, potentially transcendent one. Both are essential LA comedy institutions.
